In the second season, bodies started showing up which really should be noted, but which didn’t qualify for the list (primarily people who died off school property) Here are some of them:
Second Season |
---|
Inca Mummy Girl Ampata’s body was last seen in his trunk, in Buffy’s bedroom. We can only speculate about what became of it. Also, what was Joyce’s reaction when the imposter Ampata didn’t come back from the dance that night, and in two weeks, wouldn’t Ampata’s family in Peru start wondering why he didn’t come home again, and start making inquiries? |
What’s My Line |
Ted Okay, he wasn’t really dead—he wasn’t really alive either—but for a while Buffy had a very embarassing body on her hands. Killing Mom’s boyfriend, in front of Mom certainly didn’t earn her any daughter of the year points. The Sunnydale police showed a lot more interest in this body than they have in any of the previous ones, actually taking Buffy in for questioning, and considering laying charges. |
Third Season |
Bad Girls Faith attempts to dispose of the body, but it resurfaces in the next episode Consequences. Once again Detective Stein has a body which he manages to link to Buffy. Exactly how he does this is not clear. He says he has witnesses who saw Buffy and Faith near the crime scene, but how does he learn where the crime took place? And what was Allan doing in that alley anyway? Was he there with the Eliminati vampires that Buffy and Faith were fighting, or was he looking for the Slayers? Was he planning to inform them of the Mayor’s plans? |
Since he turned bad Angel has been knocking people off at a rate of about one per episode.
Innocence Jenny’s Uncle Enyos was Angel’s second victim. How did Angel know about him? The only explanation which I can come up with is that he knew that Jenny was watching him, and that he was watching her back. It must be more than a coincidence that the second person he kills is the one most likely to have the knowledge of how to restore his soul. |
Phases Angel seems to be starting with Buffy’s casual aquaintances, rather than going directly for her or her close friends and family. The authorities have blamed this one on the “wild dog” which has been attacking people around town, and at first Buffy thinks that the werewolf got Theresa too. (She should know better than to believe whatever the Sunnydale Police put down as the cause of death though.) Since he turned her into a vampire, the Sunnydale funeral home has yet another disappearing body. Buffy was the last person to sign the guest book before Theresa’s body disappeared, but once again, no one seems to notice. I guess the police are too busy looking for the “wild dog” which has been attacking people to worry about another missing corpse. |
Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered |
Passion Giles comes home and finds that Angel has left her body in his bed. Once again the Sunnydale body collection agency (AKA the police) show up, and they take Giles to the station to ask him a couple of questions, but they don’t keep him very long. They don’t seem to notice his weapons collection either, or his rather strange taste in books. |
