Fourth Season Bodies

#31: Eddie The Freshman
Eddie gets killed by the vampire Sunday, and some of her lackies on the campus of UC Sunnydale.

#32: Veruca Veruca Wild at Heart
Veruca is killed by Oz.

Veruca was a werewolf like Oz, and he has felt a strange attraction to her since he first saw her in Living Conditions. Veruca had apparently been a werewolf for longer than Oz, but she didn’t lock herself up when the moon got full. She liked to run around loose. The OzWolf gets loose too one evening and he and Veruca have some wolfy fun together.

Veruca liked the idea of being with Oz, and felt that Willow was competition for his affections, so she arranged to be with Willow at sunset on an evening of the full moon, with the intention of turning Willow into puppy chow.

Oz arrived in the nick of time and as the OzWolf he ripped out Veruca’s throat.

I vacillated back and forth for a while as to whether or not to include Veruca here. For a while I only had her as an “Honourable Mention”. The question was “Are werewolves people?” The deciding factor for me was that I do consider Oz to be a person, hence I have to give Veruca the same treatment.

#33: Dr. Gerhardt Pangs
Dr. Gerhardt is killed by in the UCSunnydale cultural center by Hus, an avenging spirit of the Chumash Indians. The Chumash were the original inhabitants of the Sunnydale area, but they were wiped out when the Europeans arrived. Hus was intent on returning the favour.

#34: Boy in room 118
#35: Someone in room 219

Hush
The boy in room 118, and someone in room 219 of Buffy’s dorm are killed by the Gentlemen. All we see of the victim in room 219 is their heart, clutched in one of the Gentlemen’s hands.

The Gentlemen cut the hearts out of people’s chests, without the use of anesthetics. They have cast a spell over the population of Sunnydale taking away their voices so they won’t have to listen to their victim’s screams. We never find out why the Gentlemen are collecting hearts, but they need to collect seven for some reason.

#36: Boy at Party Doomed
The boy at the Aftershock Party has his throat slashed by a demon. The demon takes some of his blood, and leaves a symbol carved in his chest. A triangle with an eye in it. The blood is required for a ritual to open the Hellmouth again.

The body is found by Willow.
